Chongqing- Themed with "Sharing New Opportunities · Integrating into the New Paradigm," the 13th Chongqing-Taiwan Week kicked off on September 27. The 14 activities in four major sections will focus on in-depth cooperation in culture, economy, and trade.

During the Chongqing · Taiwan Week, ninth Taiwan's Young Elites' Visit to Chongqing will be held to further promote the exchange and cooperation among the youth of Taiwan and Chongqing. The fourth (Chongqing) Forum on Integrated Development across the Taiwan Straits and the ninth visit and exchange activity Searching for Traces of the War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression · Seeking Peaceful Development will be hosted to explore a new path for integrated development across the Straits.

Guo Jinlong, Mainland Chairman of the Cross-strait CEO Summit, said at the opening ceremony that practice has proved that the mainland's economic stability and long-term sound trend remain unchanged, the mainland's complete industrial system and huge investment potential remain unchanged. The mainland's people-centered intention to seek the well-being of compatriots across the Straits will remain unchanged. He hoped that entrepreneurs across the Straits would seize the opportunity of scientific and technological innovation, make good use of policies that benefit Taiwan and the people, accelerate the transformation of scientific and technical achievements into real productivity, tap new drivers of post-epidemic economic growth, and join hands to achieve leapfrog development.

The opening ceremony released this year's cooperation projects in Chongqing signed off by Taiwan-funded companies and introduced the overview of Chongqing. Taiwan is the fifth largest trading partner of Chongqing, and the economic and trade cooperation between them shows a good momentum of development. Chongqing-Taiwan's economic collaboration continues to expand in many fields. In terms of industries, the cooperation has gradually covered from traditional machinery, automobile, and motorcycle industries to electronic information, finance, high-end business, etc. In terms of industrial cooperation, it has extended from general industrial cooperation to industries with high science and technology content and high added value, from production to R&D, and from a single production link to a complete industrial chain. In terms of areas, before 2009, Taiwan-funded enterprises were mainly concentrated in the central urban area, accounting for more than 80%. Since 2010, the western area of Chongqing has become an important magnet for them.
