Have you ever seen a panda that can dance ballet? The chubby panda in a ballet dress dances delicately in the air, with standard and elegant postures in “Ballet Panda” planned by the Chongqing Ballet Theater specifically for The Nutcracker, which made its debut at Caesar Palace Theatre in Happy Valley during the National Day holiday.
The Chongqing Ballet Theater of Chongqing Performing Arts Group cooperated with OCT Happy Valley to introduce the “Happy Ballet Dance in Bayu” program that combines ballet performance with tourist attractions during this year’s National Day holiday. This is an important initiative to bring the cultural and art groups into the scenic area. The Nutcracker, one of the world’s top three classic ballet fairy tales, opened a different National Day holiday in Happy Valley Caesar Palace Theater.
Chongqing Ballet Theater’s version of The Nutcracker has very elaborate choreography and costumes, and the colorful and gorgeous stage and costumes perfectly restore the classic image of the play. In this gorgeous adventure full of courage, there are passionate Spanish dancers, swaying Arabian girls, and even the traditional Chinese images of the Monkey King and the White Bone Fairy, reflecting the subtleties of the dance drama to the fullest. The audience can experience different national and ethnic dance styles in a single production, and the magnificent scenes and vivid performances are mesmerizing.
After the successful performance of The Nutcracker, more classic and innovative programs will be launched in Caesar’s Palace Theater in Happy Valley. These include plans for a masquerade ball, costume party, immersive songs and dance, and cross-year symphonic ballet will be planned and performed for the general public and tourists at important events and festivals.
