Buoyant Consumer Sentiment During the National Day Holiday

Chongqing- This year's National Day holiday witnessed the retail sales of 16.5 billion yuan (about 2.6 billion U.S. dollars) in Chongqing's main business areas and key monitored trading enterprises, up 9.3% year on year, according to Chongqing Municipal Commission of Commerce.

It was hard to book a room in ancient towns or Internet-famous homestay in the countryside, and the agritainment business was booming. The revenue of the key monitored agritainment increased by 25.1% year on year, and the turnover of key food and beverage enterprises in Chongqing rose by 24.1% on a year-on-year basis.

During the National Day holiday, the city's business sector participated in the 2021 consumption promotion campaign, driving districts and counties, large business areas, commercial blocks, and market entities to carry out various promotional activities and arouse residents' enthusiasm for consumption.

Jiangbei District

Jiangbei District collaborated with three core areas, namely Guanyinqiao Business Circle, Jiangbeizui Central Business District, and Cuntan International Consumption Area, as well as consumption areas including Dashiba Area and Beibin Road Slow Life Leisure Experience Ecological Economic Belt, and integrated diverse business forms of commerce, tourism, culture, and sports.
The campaign attracted nearly 20 key enterprises and more than 200 merchants to launch almost 100 key events and a series of supporting activities, driving the sales of key enterprises in the district to increase by 15.3% year on year during the festival.

Jiangbei District also launched the Night Jiangbei Fun Carnival at 14 consumption scenarios, such as J.D. Electric Appliance Super Experience Store, Yuanzhu Paradise Walk, and Dream Town 7. The carnival has activated the new model of coordinated business development in the district, further released the potential of night consumption, and driven the average sales increase of about 16.8% in the 14 sites.

Yuzhong District

Yuzhong District held the 2021 Fun & Fashion In Yuzhong Shopping Festival and issued 3 million yuan of electronic universal consumption coupons to the public through an online payment platform.

At the same time, the district carried out a series of activities at the three newly opened landmark projects, namely the Shibati Old Street, Fosun International Center, and Daijia Lane, attracting a large number of consumers and driving its sales increased by 7.5% year on year during the festival.
