In recent years, Chongqing Highway Logistics Base, located in Banan District, Chongqing, has bred an all-inclusive trade logistics base without the location and resource advantages of a border or coastal area and opened up a road of regional economic and social development driven by the trade logistics industry. cross-border highway transport exceeded 7,000 departures

On June 21 this year, Chongqing cross-border highway transport trucks loading with second-hand cars departed Chongqing Nanpeng Highway Bonded Logistics Center (Type B), exited the country through the Khorgos Port, and then passed Kazakhstan before it finally arrived in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan. The whole journey is about 5,400 km and took about 12 days. That marked the opening of another international land transport channel for Chongqing cross-border highway transport and also marked the official launch of second-hand car export by Chongqing cross-border highway transport. Chongqing's connectivity with the outer world is thus further enhanced.

The Master Plan of New International Land-Sea Trade Corridor issued by the state in August 2019 makes it clear that "we should give full play to the geographical advantages of Chongqing at the intersection of Belt and Road and Yangtze River Economic Belt to build a center of logistics and operation organizations. "

To unblock connection with the Maritime Silk Road and build a goods distribution center of China-ASEAN Free Trade Zone in western inland, Chongqing Highway Logistics Base and Chongqing Highway Transportation (Group) Co., Ltd. jointly established Chongqing Highway Transportation ASEAN International Logistics Co., Ltd. in 2016 for operating cross-border highway transport between Chongqing and ASEAN countries. After several years of efforts, a total of nine trunk lines leading to ASEAN countries and Central Asian countries have been opened, realizing the full coverage of the Indo-China Peninsula and partial coverage of Central Asian countries. At the same time, Chongqing cross-border highway transport has successfully obtained a Greater Mekong Subregion (GMS) through car license, opened a through-line from Chongqing to Laos, and successfully obtained approval certificate of Transport International Router (TIR). Thus, Chongqing has become the only province with GMS and TIR licenses, which can further enhance the opening level of Chongqing cross-border highway transport and boost Chongqing Highway Logistics Base to build an opening highland in Chinese inland.

Based on statistics, from the launch on April 28, 2016, to September 30, 2021, Chongqing cross-border highway transport reached 7596 departures, transporting goods of 17,091 TEUs or 123,600 tons with a total value of 4,466 million yuan. It has realized the full coverage of Indo-China Peninsula and highway transport connectivity between Chongqing and Central Asia, built a multimodal transport international logistics system dominated by cross-border highway transport, and supplemented by road-rail transport and land-sea transport, and become an important carrier of New International Land-Sea Trade Corridor.
