Chongqing- The 14th China-LAC Business Summit kicked off in Chongqing on November 16. H. E. Hallam Henry, Ambassador of Barbados to China, accepted the interview by iChongqing and expressed his feeling about the exchange and cooperation between China and LAC, especially Barbados.
He pointed out that Barbados and China established diplomatic relations almost 45 years ago, and since then, the two sides have had several forms of communication and collaboration. Culturally, many Barbados students are learning the Chinese language, culture, and festival customs, and over these years, increasing students come to China for education. The cultural and educational linkages have expanded into cultural and technological exchanges.
As for business and investment, he introduced that Barbados is well connected to the world and could be an ideal financial domicile. The stable political environment and comfortable natural tourism resources also ensure that investors would feel welcomed.
When talking about this summit held in Chongqing, he spoke highly of its significance, “This China-LAC summit actually serves as a meeting point for dialogue and making of connections, and also contributes to some of the memoranda that we hope to sign in the near future.”
“Despite the fact that the companies from Barbados were not able to come to China to attend this event,” he said, “what would happen is that our Barbados companies would be able to connect to Chinese companies.”
