Chongqing-  The China-Singapore (Chongqing) Connectivity Talent Service Center was established in Chongqing on November 25 alongside the China-Singapore (Chongqing) Demonstration Initiative on Strategic Connectivity Talent Exchange and Training Channel. The center aims to promote talent exchanges between Chongqing and Singapore.

The talent exchange and training channel serve as an online platform launched by the China-Singapore (Chongqing) Demonstration Initiative on Strategic Connectivity Administrative Bureau (CCIB).

A total of six public universities, polytechnics, vocational and technical colleges, and three education and training institutions in Singapore participate in the channel, offering six educational programs such as the Ph.D. program and Master in Public Administration and Management. It involves 25 training themes and more than 170 courses, covering education and training fields such as finance, logistics, as well as information and communications.

In addition, the channel also provides a platform for cooperation and exchanges between teachers and students at higher institutions and vocational colleges based in Chongqing and their counterparts in Singapore.

Since the establishment of the Chongqing Connectivity Initiative in 2015, both sides have achieved remarkable results in education and training, for example, exchanges and training of public servants, inter-school exchanges and cooperation, training of skilled workers, and youth internship exchanges.

CCIB director Zeng Jinghua said that the talent service center would give full play of the Chongqing Connectivity Initiative, further consolidate the talent exchange mechanism between Chongqing and Singapore, and help Chongqing turn itself into a major city of talent nationwide relying on the high-quality talent education and training resources of Singapore.

Vivian Fu, National University of Singapore (Chongqing)Research Institute Associate Director (Education), said, "We have successfully launched our research institute-the NUS Chongqing Research Institute last year." She also told iChongqing reporters that four research areas had been identified: advanced manufacturing and materials, intelligent sensing and artificial intelligence, modern logistics, and finance and financial risk management.

Karen Woong, General Manager (China), WiseNet Asia, introduced a program in technology and innovation, "This is the first time NTU is introducing this FlexiMasters program in western China and Chongqing."
