Wuxi County of Chongqing hosted a feast on the morning of November 23. Thirty catering companies showed their specialties and served their signature dishes to vie for the title of "Top Ten Wuxi Dishes." This was also the final of the "Wuxi's Top Ten Wuxi Delicacies and Top 100 Snacks" competition organized by Wuxi County.

At the competition site, all participants were preparing enthusiastically. With their skillful hands, dishes with Wuxi characteristics were placed on the table one after another, such as Wuxi roast fish, crispy fried potato, and cured meat with fermented soya beans, all of which were mouth-watering. The cooking methods varied from stir-frying to frying in shallow oil and deep-frying, displaying different styles and demonstrating competitors' ingenuity. The participants came from 30 excellent Wuxi catering companies, and all dishes were their signature dishes favored by customers and implied Wuxi characteristics.

"Our roast fish combines Wuxi, salt, boat tracker, medicine, and roast fish cultures altogether. Roast fish has its origin in Wuxi and is now nationally famous. I hope that we can make it an even more popular brand through events like this," said the owner of Chengwazi Roast Fish of Wuxi County, Zhang Zongcheng.

This event also provided a platform for the learning and exchange of the catering industry of Wuxi County. "Today, I have learned a lot. The chefs' skills and the quality of the dishes benefited me greatly. I hope that Wuxi can hold more events like this in order to, first, promote Wuxi delicacies, second, offer the catering industry an opportunity to learn and communicate," said one of the competitors Chen Renming.

The judges made their judgments by the color, scent, taste, shape, and idea of the dish. In the end, ten dishes, including Wuxi roast fish cooked by Chengwazi's team and Wuxi roast lamb cooked by Linquan Mountain Villa's team, were listed as the Top Ten Wuxi Dishes.
