Chongqing- In the five years since it was approved, the GDP of the Chongqing Airport Economic Demonstration Zone has more than doubled. According to Zhu Jiang, deputy director of the Chongqing Development and Reform Commission said on December 1st.

In October 2016, Chongqing Airport Economic Demonstration Zone was approved as national airport economic demonstration zones. According to the overall plan, the demonstration zone covers an area of 147.48 square kilometers. This area is divided into "one core and five areas" based on functions. "One core" is the core area of airport economic demonstration, mainly relying on Jiangbei International Airport and China-Singapore cooperative aviation industry projects. The "five areas" are the airport manufacturing area, airport business area, airport logistics area, airport exhibition area, and airport free trade area.

Give full play to airport leading

In 2020, the demonstration zone achieved a regional GDP of 68.54 billion yuan, which doubled from 2016. The airport industry accounts for 41.6% of the regional GDP, an increase of 5.4% from 2016.

Driven by the airport economy, 72.46 billion yuan of the fixed asset was invested in the demonstration zone in 2020, an increase of 18.7% year-on-year, and an average annual growth rate of 16.9% during the 13th Five-Year Plan period. The output value of industrial enterprises above the designated size was 182.1 billion yuan, and the output value of high-tech industries above the set size was 134.21 billion yuan. The output value of smart manufacturing accounted for 21.9% of the output value of industries above the designated size, which increased 17.6% from 2016—achieving high-quality development of airport economy.

Grasp the good air link

In 2020, Jiangbei International Airport achieved a passenger throughput of 34.94 million passengers, ranking fourth in the country. It achieved a cargo and mail throughput of 411,000 tons, of which international cargo and mail throughput were 134,000 tons, ranking first in the western region. The route network has expanded significantly. With 372 domestic and international routes, 114 more than 2016.101 international routes, which is 42 more than 2016. It opened 68 routes from countries along the "Belt and Road." Transit capabilities have been improved day by day, with the launch of "Yuyue Transit," cross-terminal transit, etc. It also opened 48 Inter-provincial long-distance lines.

Highlighting  airport orientation

The demonstration zone takes the lead in the development of the aircraft financial leasing business. By the end of 2020, 9 aircraft have been successfully landed. At the same time, the first phase of the China Aviation Maintenance Base and Air China Simulator Training Center has been built.

Airline logistics such as air express has developed rapidly, and the construction of logistics parks such as the Fungus Logistics Industrial Park has been accelerated. The world's top 5 logistics investors gathered in demonstration areas, and 91 logistics companies settled in.

The demonstration zone focuses on smart terminals, smart equipment, new energy vehicles, and core components strive to build a 100-billion-level smart terminal industry cluster and a 100-billion-level automotive industry cluster.

The development of new types of business is strong. The main economic indicators of the demonstration zone have maintained double-digit growth for four consecutive years. Realize that the total import and export volume of foreign trade accounts for about a quarter of the city. The cross-border e-commerce export train was successfully launched.

The reputation of the exhibition was gradually launched. With more than 400 large-scale conferences and 24 large-scale exhibitions held, nearly 20 million people participated in those exhibitions, driving the economy to almost 100 billion yuan.

The big data industry is beginning to show its strength. The demonstration zone introduced 150 enterprises, such as Huawei Cloud, etc. two national-level R&D platforms were established.

Demonstrating the airport style

The demonstration zone makes efforts to improve the quality of life in the airport city. Many major urban roads such as Chunxuan Avenue and Tongmao Avenue were completed and put into use. Thirty-one primary and secondary schools were newly built or expanded. The urban landscape has been upgraded, and the construction of areas such as the International Convention and Exhibition City and Central Park have been accelerated. It creates more than 8 million square meters of urban green space.

Along with the national ecological civilization construction, a demonstration zone has been successfully created, and the ecological environment has been significantly improved. They completed the "Waste-free Urban Cells" project. The safe disposal rate of hazardous waste and the harmlessness rate of domestic garbage reached 100%.
