Chongqing- The 5th "China-Baidicheng" International Poetry Festival opened in Fengjie County, Chongqing, on December 14 evening with a series of performances in which traditional elements took on a modern flavor.

With the theme of "Poetry, Orange and Far Away," the opening ceremony took the old and modern poetry as the medium, highlighted the "poetry city" cultural symbols with new creativity, thus presenting the rich cultural essence and picturesque green mountains and water, and show the courageous spirit of Fengjie people.

In the program "Love to My Hometown," 22 returnees contributed their strength to their beloved hometown. Lu Yingcong, a Fengjie contestant who participated in The Chinese Poetry Competition and also navel orange planting representative, Li Chongguo, Fengjie culture, and tourism representative, and other representatives from Fengjie have come on stage, expressed their deep love to their hometown and the strong nostalgia when constructing their hometown with poems.

"In my live-streaming, the word that appears most often is Fengjie. I will let the whole country know the taste of my hometown and contribute to the rural revitalization of Fengjie." Fengjie culture and tourism representative Li Chongguo said. The romance of poetry has been injected into Li and millions of Fengjie people's blood, and the sense of mission of constructing hometown has been deeply integrated into their lives. They are striving hard in the new era.

This year's International Poetry Competition attracted 2,322 authors from 34 provinces, regions, and cities in China and Canada, the United States, the Netherlands, and other countries to submit their scripts. In addition, at the opening ceremony of the 5th International Poetry Festival, Fengjie County held a signing ceremony for the scripts traded in the first annual "China-Fengjie" screenwriters' conference, with 14 scripts successfully traded, 12 companies successfully signed, and a total transaction amount of 270 million yuan.

"Fengjie's popularity and cultural tourism influence have continued to rise due to the International Poetry Festival year by year." according to the relevant person in charge from Fengjie County. Driven by the poetry festival, Fengjie also launched activities with other counties of Chongqing, such as "Sichuan and Chongqing - Happy Three Gorges Tour" "Zhengzhou-Chongqing High-speed Railway Tour in Three Gorges," and initially established Zhengzhou-Chongqing High-speed Railway Tourism alliance.

In the next five years, Chongqing Fengjie will focus on positioning "China Poetry City" and the "Famous City of Landscape and Culture," accelerating the construction of the Yangtze River Three Gorges international golden tourism belt core area and world-class tourism destination.
