The 2022 Chongqing Two Sessions is held from January 16 to 21, serving as a major event in the political life of Chongqing citizens.

"This year's government work report has mentioned the development of the automobile industry a couple of times," said Ma. Specifically, the report requires Chongqing to improve the core competitiveness of the manufacturing industry and seize the development opportunities of smart new energy vehicles, as well as to accelerate the construction of a national-level vehicle networking pilot area, and build a new ecology of the industry in smart new energy vehicle, etc.

Developing quality new energy vehicles

According to Ma, since 2016, Chongqing Sokon Industry Group Co., Ltd. began to develop quality new energy vehicles globally, establish R&D centers in key countries around the world, and invest over 10% of the group's sales revenue in innovative research and development every year to build its core competitiveness.

After nearly five years of effort, the group has achieved a number of technological innovations in the fields of electric drive, smart interconnection, and autonomous driving.

More importantly, it has cultivated a purely electric drive range extension platform with independent intellectual property rights that is "leading in China and advancing in the world".

Relying on this core technology platform, Chongqing Sokon Industry Group Co., Ltd. has launched the industry-leading smart car Cyrus Huawei Smart Selection SF5, Huawei AITO M5, and other core electric products.

Smart cars must be manufactured by smart factories. According to Ma, the group has built the Liangjiang Smart Factory and the Jinkang Power Science City Factory that meet China's leading and world-class industry 4.0 standards.

With the same standard, The Phoenix Smart Factory in Chongqing High-tech Zone is currently under construction.

The factory has realized the comprehensive digitization of manufacturing through digital technology interconnection, which can fit the user's demands of large-scale customized production and high-quality smart manufacturing.

New energy vehicle development cluster

In 2021, Chongqing Sokon Industry Group Co., Ltd. seized the opportunity, innovated its business model, and deeply integrated its joint business with Huawei, the world's leading Information Communication Technology (ICT) company.

Both parties carried out in-depth cooperation around the entire automotive chain of technology, channels, and products came up with new solutions of high-performance and smart mobility, and launched a series of industry-leading smart automotive products.

According to Ma, this type of business model has formed three precedents, including the precedents for the deep integration of new energy vehicle companies and ICT technology companies, for cars to be sold in mobile phone stores, and for the release of automobiles at mobile phone conferences.

"Currently, there are world-class Fortune 500 companies and suppliers working with international brands settled in Chongqing, with an investment of nearly 10 billion yuan (approx. 1.6 billion U.S. dollars)," said Ma. "The cluster effect of the development of quality new energy vehicles of Chongqing Sokon Industry Group Co., Ltd. has begun to see."

Ma said the group will strive to promote the high-quality development of new energy vehicles and make greater contributions to the economic and social development of Chongqing.
