Chongqing- This year's report on the work of Chongqing Municipal People's Government proposed to "expand consumption capacity and seize opportunities introduced by the building of Chongqing into an international consumption center to develop quality consumption, stimulate consumption in counties and townships, grow new types of consumption, and optimize the consumption environment." International consumption hubs

In 2022, Chongqing will speed up in constructing the international consumption hubs in central business districts and Cuntan International New Town while turning Jiefangbei-Chaotianmen and Guanyinqiao into world-renowned business circles.

It attempts to grow into a preferred place for brands worldwide by attracting famous brands to open the first flagship or chain store in Chongqing.

Besides, it desires to work with Sichuan to build a Bashu-featured international consumption destination.

It will expand the circulation of used cars, encourage to hold sales promotions for NEVs, introduce environmentally-friendly smart appliances to rural areas, and offer trade-in service.

To promote new types of consumption, Chongqing has been growing emerging businesses and new models concerning smart, customized, and fashion-related consumption and unleashing consumption potential in urban and rural areas.

Open economy

According to the report, Chongqing should "improve the quality of open economy, foreign trade, and foreign capital utilization and promote opening-up based on rules and related institutions."

It is expected to accelerate the construction of integrated pilot zones for cross-border e-commerce and set foot in such emerging markets as countries along the Belt and Road, South America, and Africa.

Besides, the city will build a high-standard system for opening up based on rules and related institutions and implement the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP) Agreement.
