Chongqing@International Sister Cities | Chongqing Meets Sydney

Chongqing- In 2022, the Chinese Lunar New Year, also known as the Spring Festival, falls on February 1. It is an important holiday in China as a time for celebrating and feasting, honoring household and ancestors for all the Chinese worldwide.

Chongqing, the biggest municipality in Southwest China with a population of over 30 million, has had a long relationship with Australia since the country built its first embassy of China here. Chongqing and Sydney have aligned as sister cities and will keep promoting communication and cooperation of culture and commerce. On January 29, iChongqing co-hosted a great live stream show with our guest host Austin Josh from People's Daily Online Australia to present the Spring Festival vibes in Chongqing and Sydney. Eiko was hosting the show in the brand new studio of iChongqing, Cho Li and Nick Lee were in Danzishi, a historical site with a modern sense in Chongqing, and Austin showed us the bustling celebrations in Chinatown of Sydney, which is the biggest Chinatown in the South Hemisphere. With greetings from the Lord Mayor of Sydney, Clover Moore, and the city ​​councilor, Robert Kok, the show presented a glamorous night to remember.
