Chongqing- Recently, "The Growth of Everything, the Power of the Arts," Songwen Sun-von Berg Solo Exhibition opened at the VA Galleries in Yuzhong District, Chongqing, featuring 28 works by the artist.
Born in Shanghai, Sun has been living and working in Germany for 30 years and has formed her own unique artistic style by blending elements of Eastern and Western cultures. Highly influenced by Chinese Taoist culture, she uses her paintbrush to express her perception of all things in the universe, integrates it into life, lets the hurried footsteps rest, and creates a comfortable space for people to imagine and enjoy the beauty of art. As she said, this is her endless joy and constant pursuit. Also, Sun is committed to presenting Chinese ink and wash and excellent Chinese culture in a contemporary context to the international community, including Germany, through practical actions. This year is the 50th anniversary of establishing diplomatic relations between China and Germany. She hopes to continue to use art as a bridge to contribute to the cultural exchange between China and Germany.
On behalf of the organizers, Deputy Consul General of the German Consulate General in Chengdu, Mr. Sebastian Dern, welcomed the guests. Mr. Dern introduced as a prelude to the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the People's Republic of China and the Federal Republic of Germany. This exhibition is intended to make a contribution to the cultural and people-to-people exchanges between the two countries, which the epidemic has limited.
As the core of Chongqing and the mother city of history, Yuzhong District, the venue of this exhibition is an organic blend of tradition and modernity, classic and fashion, and is loved by foreign friends. In recent years, Yuzhong District has been speeding up the construction process of the core area of the international communication center in the central and western part of the city. Standing at a new historical stage, it is believed that China and Germany will respect each other, strengthen exchanges, enhance mutual trust and expand cooperation in various fields such as trade and economy, education, science and technology, culture and art, and promote the strategic partnership between China and Germany to continue to develop comprehensively. This exhibition is one of the series of activities for the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Germany, which not only provides us with an opportunity to understand the fusion of East and West culture and art up close but also builds a bridge of communication between Chongqing citizens and German people.
