How Much Do Expats Know About China's Two Sessions?

By QIUYUE LIWANG, XIAOYAN|Mar 03,2022

Chongqing - A key event in China's political calendar, the annual sessions of China's top legislature and political advisory body, known as the "two sessions," will take place in Beijing this week. The event encompasses the meetings of China's top two political bodies, the National People's Congress (NPC) and the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC). Together the event has been described as a critical window for the international community to observe where the world's second-largest economy is heading and what it means to the world.

How much do the expats in China know about the two sessions? What topics are they concerned about? What impresses them the most about China's development? Among the numerous foreigners who have witnessed China's rapid progress are American social media influencer Ben Brown and Chongqing University students Kuchma Iana and Isaac Nathan Wijaya from Russia and Indonesia. iChongqing reached out to them and explored their concerns and opinions on the annual two sessions. Let's hear what they have to say.
