On February 28, as the first cultural event of the "2022 Sino-Italian Year of Culture and Tourism," the exhibition "Italiae. From Alinari to the Masters of Contemporary Photography" was officially opened at the Exhibition Hall of Chongqing Library.

After exhibiting in Minsk, St. Petersburg, Tashkent, and Chengdu, "Italiae. From Alinari to the Masters of Contemporary Photography" now comes to Chongqing. The exhibition brings together the works of more than 75 renowned photographers who have used images to document and tell the story of Italy's history and customs for more than 160 years, from the mid-19th century to the present day.

The exhibition was conceived to convey the beauty and variety of Italy, its landscapes, its creativity, and its people through photography. It is divided into three chapters: Landscapes, Works, and Faces. Each chapter constructs a visual path that captures the various changes in the evolution of Italy from the perspectives of geography, history, and art. Various themes are contained: north and south, city and countryside, work and leisure, tradition and innovation, social history, and cultural life. They jointly paint a vivid picture of Italy and illustrate its charm and diversity for the audience.

The Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs initiated the Fondazione Alinari Per La Fotografia exhibition, produced by Fratelli Alinari I.D.E.A. S.P.A., curated by Rita Scartoni and Luca Criscenti, and has been touring the world since last June.

The exhibition will be open to the public for free until March 30 at the Exhibition Hall of Chongqing Library (106 Fengtian Avenue, Shapingba District), every Monday from 14:00 to 20:00 and every Tuesday to Sunday from 09:00 to 20:00.
