It is rich in humanities and natural resources and has special geographical and location advantages," said Liu Qi, a member of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, Secretary of CPC Committee, and Director of Chongqing Municipal Commission of Culture and Tourism Development. He believes that it is of great significance and urgency to include Chongqing as a key construction area of the Yangtze River National Cultural Park, thus achieving high-quality development.

What are the advantages of Chongqing becoming a key construction area of the Yangtze River National Cultural Park? Liu Qi said that Chongqing is an important channel for exchanging and integrating regional cultures such as Bashu and Central Plains cultures. It is a significant representative of the Yangtze River civilization and occupies an important position in the construction of the Yangtze River National Cultural Park.

Chongqing has a history of more than 3,000 years as a city. It is an important historical and cultural city along the mainstream of the Yangtze River. The Yangtze River traverses the entire territory of Chongqing, with a flow of 691 kilometers, accounting for 10.8% of the total mileage. The Bayu culture, Three Gorges culture, anti-war culture, and immigrant culture are reflected in this city.

Chongqing is home to one UNESCO World Cultural Heritage site and three World Natural Heritage Sites, and the other two sites are included in the Tentative List of UNESCO World Cultural Heritage. There are 15,155 immovable cultural relics in the mainstream of the Yangtze River in Chongqing, including 53 national key cultural relics protection units and 251 municipal-level cultural relics protection units, as well as 509,082 movable cultural relics, including 30,557 precious cultural relics. The cultural relics protection projects in the Chongqing reservoir area accounts for 78% of the total amount of the Three Gorges cultural relics protection projects.

In addition to its rich cultural heritage, Chongqing is also the core of the Yangtze River International Golden Tourism Belt. Over the past few years, a series of important discoveries have demonstrated the most complete and longest-lasting prehistoric cultural sequence in the upper reaches of the Yangtze River so far.

"The Three Gorges of the Yangtze River is one of the earliest tourist routes introduced to the international market in China. It is a well-known world-class tourist destination at home and abroad, and the economic scale of inland cruise ships leads the country. In 2020, the number of domestic tourists in Chongqing ranked fifth in the country and third in the Yangtze River Economic Belt. The satisfaction of tourism services has ranked first among the 60 key tourist cities in China for two consecutive years." Liu introduced.

In recent years, the CPC Chongqing Municipal Committee and Chongqing Municipal People's Government have attached great importance to the construction of the Yangtze River culture and have accumulated a lot of experience in promoting the Yangtze River culture. The research on the Yangtze River culture has yielded fruitful results. "As the world's largest inland city with mountains and rivers, Chongqing's Yangtze River culture is rich in connotations and should stand in the key position for the construction of the Yangtze River National Cultural Park. It is hoped that Chongqing will be included in the key construction area of the Yangtze River National Cultural Park, and more guidance and support will be given to Chongqing in terms of policies, planning, projects, and funds."
