Chongqing - Chongqing Grand Theater will hold a classical live screening season from April 2 to May 28. The world-renowned classical masterpieces - such as the Super Concert, the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra, Herbert von Karajan, the classical ballet Swan Lake, and the opera Carmen- will be on show for the audiences.

The price for each live screening is 60 yuan ($ 9.4 ), or 40 yuan for VIP members. Residents in Chongqing are expected to embrace the charms of the classical masterpieces in this classical season.

A classical feast

The theater also plans to bring art performances by well-known ensembles, including the Vienna State Ballet, the Berlin Philharmonic, and the Vienna Philharmonic. The broadcasted lists will present not only the grand performances of famous classic stages abroad but also the historical moments performed by the late conductor.

For example, the audience will not only enjoy Tchaikovsky's Fourth Symphony and Sixth Symphony at The Super Concert, The Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra, Herbert von Karajan, but will also see the precious video records of Herbert Von Karajan, the great conductor, during his lifetime.

Innovative viewing activities

According to the theater, the season will include a raft of activities, such as on-site viewing activities, on-site viewing guided tours, and discussions. 

This performance season aims to innovate the viewing mode to attract and benefit the residents. Combined broadcast and guided tours, it aims to introduce overseas classic arts for young people to get aesthetic education and create a cultural space in the city.

Better viewing experience

It is worth mentioning that the theater will open up a new theater space in April on the 5th floor to give the audience a better viewing experience.

According to the theater, it will present blockbuster performances in the big theater and create a series of special performances in the middle theater. The small theater focuses on public welfare activities, bringing residents a new art experience.

"The high-definition broadcast season is like an extension of the on-site stage, which has value in enhancing popularity," said He Wen, general manager of Chongqing Grand Theater.

He added, "In the future, we will also pay attention to more excellent plays in the market, let audiences enjoy (global) arts without leaving Chongqing."
