Water Ecology Museum featuring new experiences

The Water Ecology Museum is located in the east of Chongqing Liangjiang New Area Dongbu Park.

As you walk into the Museum, the long "Time Corridor" will impress you through scene automation subtitled live-action scenes, immersive film, and installations.

As you continue the way, you will see the light and shadow cave space equipped with a super large screen to offer visitors an immersive experience of the improved beautiful environment of reservoirs, lakes, and rivers.

In the light and shadow space, visitors can experience the pleasure of "chasing fish" in the "ocean" created by interactive projection lamps on the ground.

Keep walking, and then you will see an interactive wall to disseminate scientific knowledge on ecology. "Which plants that can restore water ecology are common in parks?" "Which environmental factors can impact aquatic plants in rivers?" Such questions about ecology will appear on the wall like bullet-screen comments. When visitors touch the question, the answer will appear at once.

In the game of interaction through touch-screen, visitors can choose "fish" according to the reminders on the answers to questions about maintaining ecological balance, thus learning some basic knowledge about water ecology while having fun. Children can draw any fish they like or recreate the pictures of fish given, and then the unique fish will appear on the big screen.

To improve and protect the water environment

In recent years, a host of places famous as spots for photography have been built in Liangjiang New Area. For example, Tiaodenghe Park, Wujiawan Reservoir, Bailin Reservoir, and Jinshan Lake are popular places among Chongqing people to have leisure and enjoy the water.

The Water Ecology Museum has given a vivid account of Liangjiang New Area's efforts and achievements in harnessing, using and reusing water and treating water pollution based on regional characteristics, creating a "Commentary on the Water Classic" in the new era.

"Improving and protecting urban water environment faces a host of difficulties in, for example, source tracing, design, construction, and management and control. We hope that through our efforts to display the difficulties, people can more cherish the environment, realize that today's lucid waters and green mountains are hard-won, and become more aware of treasuring water resources in daily life," said Duan Lizhi, Deputy Director of the City Landscape and Water Conservancy Management and Maintenance Center of Liangjiang New Area.

Smart Water Affairs Hall

At the end of the Water Ecology Museum, visitors can take a photo in front of the scenic curtain wall featuring beautiful views, such as Jinshan Lake, Bailin Reservoir, and Fengshou Reservoir, and scan the QR code on the machine to see the pictures on their phones. It's worth noting that there is a smart water affairs hall on the second floor.

Equipped with the "most powerful brain" system, the platform can collect information, including rainfall observation stations, river gauging stations, and video monitoring points in Liangjiang New Area, and realize effective coordination among pollution sources, the network of pipelines, water quality monitoring stations, sewage treatment plants, and rivers. In this way, a monitoring data system covering the river basin in Liangjiang New Area can be formed. The centralized display and storage of key information about rainfall, water, video, early warning, and other aspects are ensured.

"We strive to develop the Water Ecology Museum into an immersive experience space and an interesting science popularization center about Liangjiang New Area's efforts on improving and protecting water environment to educate the public to save and cherish water," said Yi Jilin, Deputy Director of Liangjiang New Area City Administration Bureau.
