Chongqing- Chongqing is a famous city steeped in millennia of Bayu culture and history, where modernity and antiquity blend together seamlessly. Besides the seemingly magical skyscrapers, there are unforgettable ancient towns for people to explore, adorned with slab stone alleys and stilted architecture. Ancient towns truly stand witness to the long history and memories of Chongqing.
Ancient towns abound in Chongqing, so I’d like to recommend a few. Gongtan Ancient Town is known as the "first town of Bashu." Situated on the banks of the Wu River, you can take a boat and admire the wondrous scenery in the Wu River Scenic Gallery.
Of course, you could also explore Anju Ancient Town nestled amidst the surroundings of mountains and rivers. The stilted buildings stand with a pleasing asymmetry and make for a fantastic cultural journey.
