Chongqing- In March, Chongqing Economic and Information Technology Commission issued a notice on green manufacturing, planning to create 50 green factories and five green parks within the year.

Under the plan, Chongqing Mexin Group, a traditional door manufacturing company, has realized green transformation into a national green factory aiming for "dual carbon" goals. 

Mexin Group reaps the benefits by strengthening green and intelligent development, as the company's annual sales value is expected to rise by 30%. 

Hidden "farm" inside the factory 

Embracing greenery and flowers, employees wield hos to plant fruits and vegetables. In an ecological farm, this phenomenon can also be viewed in the factory. 

Located in the Nan'an District, Chongqing, there is a "farm" with more than 20,000 square meters hidden on the roof of Mexin Factory. 

Surrounded by an artificial river with fish and shrimp, the "farm" is filled with all kinds of vegetables, fruits, flowers, and greenery.

"This place allows everyone to grow vegetables, fruits, flowers, and even grains in their spare time," said a company representative. "This will not only improve the factory environment and air conditions but also ease stress for employees."

Since the "farm" was built, Mexin Group has held a series of interesting activities to enrich employees' spare time, appealing to many citizens to visit as well. 

Green manufacturing 

Not only the office environment but the greening of Mexin Group is also reflected in the manufacturing process. 

As one of the first green factories in Chongqing, the green elements can be seen everywhere in the company. 

For example, all lights and faucets in the factory area are inductive in order to achieve energy savings. A part of the energy used in the factory for electricity, cooling, and heating comes from the recycling of waste heat and cooling in the production workshop. 

A source of the company said that it had achieved the goals of land use, harmless materials, efficient production, recycling, and low carbon energy by choosing green raw materials, processes, techniques, and equipment in production. 

Intelligent process 

In addition to greening, intelligence is another keyword of Mexin's green transformation. 

As a leader in door manufacture, Mexin aims to build into a lights-off factory. Robots operate all production lines independently to realize fully automated operations with lights off. 

A related person in charge of the company introduced that the production of doors, especially door frames, is a numerous and complex process. 

To complete each process of producing door frames of different shapes and sizes, one worker is required, at least in the past. 

After the intelligent transformation, the robot arm is applied in cyclic operation, which connects each step into one whole process. Every 30 seconds, a steel plate is turned into a door, showing a significant improvement in efficiency.
