Chongqing- About 120 kilometers away from downtown Chongqing lies a mysterious and beautiful county called Fengdu, or Fengdu Ghost City. It is a famous historical and cultural town originating in the Han Dynasty (from 202 BC to 220 AD).

Even among the many tourist attractions in Chongqing, Fengdu is extremely special. From the origin of the legends of Confucianism, Taoism, and Buddhism, combined with the ghost culture of China, together with the descriptions of ancient literati and officials through novels, poems, travel notes, and inscriptions, Fengdu Ghost City has experienced a history of more than 2,000 years from illusion to reality. It combines reality and imagination; architecture, sculpture, and painting here are of great artistic value.

But Fengdu is by no means a grim city. It has beautiful natural scenes. People here are hard-working and enthusiastic and lead happy lives. If you want to have a special trip, admire and experience the ghost culture of China, Fengdu is definitely a good choice.

The Yangtze River rushes forward day and night. It leaves an impressive touch when flowing through Fengdu County, creating "a city of harvest famous for its natural landscapes."

Today, by the side of the wide waters created by the high dam, Fengdu is endowed with breathtaking natural scenery and abundant in cultural accumulation and natural resources. The Yangtze River runs 47 km across Fengdu from west to east, dividing the county into northern and southern parts. Its three tributaries (Longhe River, Bixi River, and Quxi River) helped shape four mountain ranges, namely Mount Huangcao, Mount Jiangjia, Mount Fangdou, and Mount Qiyao. In particular, in the rolling mountains on its south bank in Fengdu, Longhe River, like a skilled craftsman, created three 4A national tourist attractions, namely Nantian Lake, Xueyu Cave, and Jiuchongtian Scenic Spot. In addition, the Longhe River (Fengdu section) is the only national-level demonstration river/lake in Chongqing.
