Chongqing- The 2022 "Rural Revitalization·Chongqing Session" public service activity kicked off in Southwest China's Chongqing Municipality Thursday. It marks China's first activity of its kind for rural revitalization in a region.
Founded in 2015, 99 Giving Day is China's first internet charity campaign sponsored by Tencent Charity and hundreds of enterprises, NGOs, and celebrities. It aims to use the Internet and social network to encourage citizens to participate in public welfare through small cash donations, step donations, and voice donations.

Tencent Charity joins hands with the Chongqing government and organizations to hold China's first regional public service activity for rural revitalization. It is dedicated to the rural revitalization of Chongqing, so it is different from the 99 Giving Day.
Nearly 300 projects will be launched online, covering industrial assistance, elderly care, education, talent assistance, child care, and ecological revitalization. These efforts come from 94 charitable organizations, social organizations, and voluntary service organizations in Chongqing.

The activity provides easy access online. From April 27 to 29, citizens can participate in the "Chongqing Special" public welfare activity through WeChat mini-program Tencent Charity and donate to their favorite public welfare projects, helping Chongqing's rural revitalization. It will start at 10 am every day. Users who contribute at least 1 yuan to the public welfare project will have the chance to receive a random amount of donation from Tencent Charity. In this campaign, Tencent Charity will provide 50 million yuan (about 7.8 million U.S. dollars) of donation funds for those rural revitalization projects.
From April 15 to 30, citizens take more than 6,000 steps on WeRun and may donate walking steps to Tencent Charity. After donation, enterprises will donate 0.5 yuan to charity projects, and citizens will receive adorable electronic red flowers and electronic certificates. In addition, citizens can also participate in donations by answering public welfare knowledge questions and giving small red flowers.
Chongqing Charity Federation has mobilized 41 enterprises to donate 22.43 million yuan for the donation campaign. Five local enterprises in Chongqing, such as Mr. Rice and Country Style Cooking, will launch love coupons for 39 projects of the particular campaign. When citizens donate to these 39 projects, they will gain love coupons provided by these enterprises and enjoy discounts at the stores.
