Chongqing Never Sleeps

New York is a famous city known as the Big Apple or its nickname, The City That Never Sleeps. On the other side of the world, a relatively unknown megacity in China is emerging to stake its claim as the (Asian) City That Never Sleeps.

Chongqing has become the biggest megacity in China in 25 years. Chongqing is a sprawling metropolis where 32 million people live in a land area the size of South Carolina, and skyscrapers give way to vast farmland beyond the city center. According to the Seventh National Population Census released in May 2021, there are 32 million permanent residents in Chongqing. As per the census, the city has shown immense growth over the last decade, with an 11.12% population increase since 2010.

With a history stretching more than 3,000 years, Chongqing has been an important political, economic and strategic center in China's west. It is known as a "mountain city" owing to its rugged terrain and steep gorges. This economic powerhouse displays everything you want in a city. Known for its spicy food and hot climate, this city never cools down. With fantastic nightlife and a beautifully lit skyline, it's no wonder this city takes the crown for its CyberPunk feel.

The best way to capture the feeling of a City That Never Sleeps is by watching it live and breathe.
