Chongqing- China’s green ambition has turned into a green revolution, which is on track in Chongqing, a megacity of over 32 million people in southwestern China.
Chongqing’s urban transportation system may be one of the most diverse in the world. In addition to roads, rails, cableways, and ferries, the mountain city trail has been an important way for Chongqing citizens to live and travel since ancient times. It twists and turns and goes up and down, tracing the hilly geographic landscape. The Mountain City Trail is a featured brand here, including Mountain Forest Trails, Urban City Trails, and Riverside Trails.
Specifically, there’re nine Mountain Forest Trails in Chongqing, with 274 kilometers. It consists of hiking trails and recreational contact lines, mainly for leisure fitness and ecological recreation.
The Urban City Trails are for daily travel and convenient life, located in urban areas with high population density, significant terrain height difference, insufficient road network density, and inconvenient bus connections. There are 31 Urban City Trails in Chongqing, 467 Kilometers in total.
The Riverside Trails are mainly for water viewing, fitness, and recreation. It consists of riverside walks, green land trails, and cycling paths, with 20 trails to choose from, approximately 466 kilometers.
With over 1,207 kilometers, the 60 Mountain City Trails are circular, linear, and branch-shaped. They emphasize the needs of humanity and experience the natural and cultural landscape of Chongqing from the perspective of “people”. It also symbolizes the tenacity and positive spirit of the Chongqing people to succeed.
