By YAN DENG|May 14,2022

Chongqing - On May 12, Hu Henghua, Mayor of Chongqing Municipal People's Government, met via video link with De Sumia Bazar, Mayor of Ulaanbaatar. Two cities signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to establish a sister-city relationship.

Hu Henghua expressed his heartfelt thanks to all the friends who have worked hard to establish friendly exchanges between the two cities. Signing the MOU as sister cities is a powerful step to implement the important consensus reached by the two countries' leaders and a pragmatic approach to deepen local cooperation.

In recent years, friendly exchanges and cooperation between Chongqing and Mongolia have been deepened across all sectors, such as exchanges and interactions, trade, and scientific and educational collaboration.

Chongqing is willing to establish a communication mechanism to deepen further cooperation in the fields of economy and trade, science and education, culture, and tourism. Chongqing expects to boost business cooperation between both sides in mineral development, agriculture and animal husbandry, new energy vehicles, biomedicine, and big data intelligence.

In addition, Chongqing warmly welcomes Mongolian friends to visit and feel the unique charm of this mountainous city.

"Mongolia and China are friendly neighbors and enjoy a long history of friendship," said De Sumia Bazar. "Both join hands to fight the epidemic, which has set a good example between countries."

Tuvshin Badral added that the signing of the MOU is an important part of the exchanges and cooperation between Mongolia and China, which is of great significance. They will build bridges and promote cooperation between the two sides to achieve fruitful results.
