Twelve foreign youths from 9 countries including Russia, Turkmenistan, Pakistan, Jamaica, Sudan, the Republic of the Congo, Yemen, Nigeria, and Madagascar will go to various districts and counties in Chongqing from May 19 to 25. The topics of their films include Global Village, Art Village, Jiangjin Liquor, Big Data Industrial Park, Human and Nature, Craftsmen, and intangible cultural heritage projects in Chongqing. Through the projects, they will explore the relationship between humans, society, and nature, and show the culture and mountain scenery of Chongqing to the audience.

"The project has built a platform for cultural exchanges between China and foreign countries and enhanced the friendship between Chinese and foreign youths. It is hoped that the 12 foreign directors this year can work together with the Chinese volunteers to create works with warmth, depth, and brightness through personal experience and heartfelt perception," said Professor Yu Ji, Dean of the Journalism and Communication College of Southwest University and the person in charge of Looking China-Foreign Youth Film Project-Chongqing Tour.

Golubenko Nadezhda, a Russian student, said, "We will go to Yongchuan District, to photograph a local big data industrial park and record the developments and achievements of China's high-tech."

In 1952, Yuan Longping, the father of hybrid rice, came to Dazu, Chongqing, and started his career. Now the giant rice has been successfully planted on a trial basis in Dazu District, and Yuan Longping's dream is gradually coming true. Miarimbola, a Madagascar student majoring in International Education of Chinese, said that she will go to Dazu to photograph the giant rice field and let Chinese hybrid rice go further to the world through her film.

Besides, many young directors focus on characters from all walks of life in Chongqing. For example, Jamaican student Brown Kemar will go to Bishan District to film the story of a ninety-year-old man who built and protected the stele forest, while Yemeni student Abdulsalam plans to go to Nanchuan District to tell the story of researchers who silently guarded the Jinfo Mountain and to present the harmonious coexistence between human beings and nature.

Mohammed Hassan Ali Alaghib, a Sudanese student at Southwest University, said, "This time we will focus on the story of the craftsmen of dragon lantern and silk figure in Anju Ancient Town of Tongliang District. I like this theme very much. It is because of the persistence and guardianship of generations of craftsmen in such an intangible cultural heritage that it can present precious values today. I am looking forward to working with my Chinese producer to show the excellent Chinese culture through the lens."
