Chongqing- Customs statistics show that in the first four months of 2022, the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) remains China’s largest trade partner, accounting for 14.6 percent of China’s total foreign trade, with the European Union and the United States ranking second and third.

As a flagship project of the Belt and Road Initiative, the China-Laos Railway links Southwest China’s Kunming city in Yunnan Province with the Lao capital Vientiane. The railway has become a convenient logistics channel between China and the ASEAN countries, promoting the economic and social development of both sides.

Located in the middle part of Southwest China’s Yunnan Province, Yuxi is a crucial transport center, and home to the province’s tobacco, vegetables, fruits, and flowers production. Yuxi city has a 145-km-long section of the 1,035-kilometer China-Laos Railway, with five stations crossing the city’s downtown, Yuxi, Eshan, Yanhe, Huanian, and Yuanjiang. As the China-Laos Railway starts operation, Yuxi will expand its logistics services along with 0ther industries from the Yanhe and the South freight train stations. This will further promote the construction of the city as an international logistics port providing nationwide services with extension to South and Southeast Asia.
