Chongqing- Loaded with more than 900 tons of goods, a train of the New International Land-sea Trade Corridor (ILSTC) departed from Tuanjiecun Station in Southwest China's Chongqing Municipality on May 31, heading for Yen Vien, Vietnam in five to six days. This train applied for the railway express mode of customs clearance and was successfully released by the customs, marking the first outbound train of the ILSTC China-Vietnam using the railway express mode. 

Worth 7.483 million yuan (about 1.12 million U.S. dollars) and with 34 containers, all the goods on this train come from Qinghai Province in Northwest China. They were transported to Chongqing by railroad and took the China-Vietnam train to Vietnam. 

The railway express is the mode of the railway inbound and outbound fast customs clearance issued by the General Administration of Customs to improve the efficiency of railroad import and export cargo transportation and customs clearance facilitation. Characterized by low cost, fast time efficiency, and high convenience, the railway express mode saves the cost of declaring the transshipment bill and avoids the generation of port detention fees. 

The train can be released about one hour after arriving at the station through the railway express mode, saving more than 24 hours of customs clearance and about 200 yuan per container. Enterprises can check in their localities. Businesses such as manifest consolidation, ticket distribution, repair, and withdrawal can also be handled in their localities, which is highly convenient. 

"The congestion at Pingxiang port, cargo backlog, necessary procedures at the exit port, and customs inspection make the cargo time extension, which is a great headache for us," said an international freight forwarding company. "In addition to reducing the procedures to improve efficiency, the railway express mode of customs clearance also reduces the emergence of some abnormalities, saving time and costs. We have greater confidence for the timeliness."

On May 21, the first China-Laos Railway express train Departed for Vientiane through ILSTC, which greatly shortened the logistics time. Customers have said that they all want to adopt the railway express mode. According to the New Land-sea Corridor Operation Co., Ltd, this time, the China-Vietnam railway express mode brings more benefits to enterprises.

In the next step, the regular two-way operation of the railway express mode of the China-Laos and China-Vietnam Railway will be achieved to bring more convenience to enterprises. The Chongqing Customs District will continue to improve the railroad facilitation customs clearance, expanding the railway express mode and other business coverage. The integrated development of the Belt and Road Initiative will be further facilitated, aiming to crack the international logistics problems in the central and western regions and to build a new pattern of opening up to the outside world.
