Chongqing- An exhibition of artworks from 2022 graduates was open to the public on June 2 at the annual cultural feast, Chongqing Grand Art Market – Blooming June Art Tour of Sichuan Fine Arts Institute (SFAI).

The exhibition brings together nearly 10,000 works of the graduates of SFAI in 2022, both online and offline. There will be offline activities, such as the Art Museum at Night and the Most Favorite Art Work Award, representing the youth in Chongqing and bringing audiences visions of beauty, space, and life.

Nearly 10,000 graduation works

There are so many categories of exhibits in Blooming June, including oil painting, sculpture, Chinese painting, film and television animation, cross-media art, public art, experimental art, and so on. The exhibition covers various art categories in the field of fine arts, dazzling visitors who enjoy the feast of art.

For example, the young creators of the Oil Painting Department of the College of Plastic Arts concentrate on realistic figurative painting, comprehensive painting, and conceptual and media experimentations. In this way, young artists present their feelings of self-perception, childhood memory, families, family history, space, and emotion.

Artists from the sculpture department focus on a variety of forms such as cross-media, figurative, landscape, and utensil sculptures. They frequently use everyday media to indicate microscopic expressions of life and convey the emotion of the artworks.

This year, the event Blooming June has nearly 10,000 works online and offline from 1,364 and 1,086 participants respectively. The online exhibition is available on CQCB app, while the offline venues are at the Art Museum of SFAI and Chongqing Museum of Contemporary Art. The offline exhibition of undergraduate works will continue until June 19, and the exhibition of the postgraduate work will continue until June 25. The online exhibition will continue until July 10. Moreover, it is open to the public for free.

Artworks Present Chongqing’s aesthetics and cultural tastes

In addition to the large scale of the exhibition and rich exhibit items, there are expectations for Chongqing and the future in the works.

For example, the Design College artists use their works to display the city’s features, with the theme of the Wisdom of Chongqing. They focus on rural design, intelligent era, interpretation of southwestern ethnic folk culture, green sustainability, empowering rural revitalization, reflecting changes in the 5G era, and promoting the charm of southwest ethnic folk culture.

Meanwhile, the College of Public Art creators have applied multiple art elements to urban planning and construction, with themes of the art of Chongqing art peninsula, intangible cultural heritage, integration of light and art, portraying stories of China, and so on. In this way, the quality of the urban environment and the aesthetic and cultural taste of the city can be improved.

The large number and variety of exhibits consist of diverse material forms and hierarchical structures, with rich contents and artistic language. Audiences and visitors can experience Chongqing’s youth and picturesque art pieces from young students.

On June 9, the Art Museum at Night event will be held at the Art Museum of SFAI, launching some art activities, such as the light show, costume show, Chinese-style fashionable musical, immersive drama, and so on. The cultural event, Blooming June, has already been successfully held for 17 sessions, and it has become a vital art festival and cultural IP in Chongqing, with 200,000 to 300,000 visitors each year.
