On June 11, the Chongqing-Singapore Youth Drone Friendship Competition was held at the Chongqing Window of International Culture and Tourism, marking the start of this year's China-Singapore cooperation in culture and tourism.

It was the first activity that was held to promote characteristic tourist destinations. Experts from the Science Centre Singapore were invited to provide online training for more than 60 participants. Display areas of Chongqing's and Singapore's characteristic tourist attractions and a drone racing track themed after popular tourist destinations in Singapore were set up. Juvenile participants and their parents enjoyed a relaxing and happy competition atmosphere and learned more about Singapore, a famous "garden city," and Chongqing, "A Land of Natural Beauty, A City with Cultural Appeal."

Chongqing and Singapore have maintained frequent international exchanges and cooperation in culture and tourism. Singapore used to be one of Chongqing's top ten tourist sources for many years, and China ever landed on the list of Singapore's "largest tourist sources" for three consecutive years.

To address the challenges posed by COVID-19, the Singapore Tourism Board has beefed up efforts to develop tourism products and improve tourism experiences to ensure that Chongqing citizens can travel around Singapore safely and healthily. Meanwhile, it has strengthened cooperation with other stakeholders in the tourism sector and launched "SingapoReimagine," a new platform for Singapore to reintroduce travel to it and around the world as a participant, partner, and contributor.

The "Chongqing-Singapore" Youth Drone Friendship Competition is another activity of the "Diverse Charms of Chongqing" series after "Unique Chongqing" — Training Session by Australian Experts, "Unique Chongqing" — Keynote Speech & Promotion in Malaysia, diversifying the contents and forms of the "Diverse Charms of Chongqing" International Culture and Tourism Promotion. After the competition, representatives from the Singapore Tourism Board and the Chongqing Municipal Commission of Culture and Tourism Development awarded joint certificates and souvenirs to participants.

Chongqing Window of International Culture and Tourism is China's first comprehensive foreign exchange platform that integrates outbound travel services, culture, tourism display and promotion, and international exchange services. Since its official start of operation in August 2021, it has actively responded to the serious challenges and impacts caused by the pandemic. It has worked to cooperate with overseas organizations, consolidate international culture and tourism resources, and establish a platform for two-way exchanges.

So far, it has organized more than 30 activities together with consular offices and tourism offices of Italy, Canada, Australia, and Malaysia in Chongqing (Chengdu) and developed activity brands such as "Diverse Charms of Chongqing" International Culture and Tourism Promotion, and Chongqing International Culture, Tourism and Trade Salon. It has become a leader in Chongqing's foreign exchanges and cooperation in culture and tourism.
