Chongqing- On June 14th, the participants of "Beautiful Chongqing - Visiting the Yangtze River National Cultural Park by Zhengzhou-Chongqing High-speed Railway" arrived in Yunyang County. They lifted the veil of the Yunyang section of the Yangtze River National Cultural Park.

A Real "Jurassic Park"

Yunyang has become the most important dinosaur cultural center in the Yangtze River Basin. It not only preserves the largest single Jurassic dinosaur fossil wall in the world so far but also has the "Chongqing Yunyang Xintiangou Formation Dinosaur Fauna," which represents an important stage of the world's dinosaur evolution. This is a milestone in the discovery of paleontology in the Yangtze River Basin, and it is also the representative of the largest, most diverse, and most scientifically valuable dinosaur fossils in the Yangtze River Basin.

In March 2020, Yunyang Pu'an Dinosaur Geopark was awarded the National Geopark by the National Forestry and Grassland Administration. 

Today's Yunyang is taking fossil conservation as the premise, scientific research as the support, science popularization as the goal, and immersive amusement experience as the auxiliary, combined with the characteristics of landscapes, to highlight the uniqueness of fossil resources in the Yangtze River Basin.

In the future, Yunyang will build an international dinosaur academic exchange highland, a well-known national research camp, and a national 5A-level tourist destination. The base will demonstrate Yunyang's unique dinosaur culture in the Yangtze River Basin to the world and build the world's dinosaur capital.

Building an ecological city

Under the guidance of the ecological environment protection awareness and ecological consciousness passed down from generation to generation, the people of Yunyang have always paid attention to protecting the Yangtze River Basin. The Yangtze River also provides the people of Yunyang with abundant water, biological, mineral, and natural tourism resources.

In recent years, Yunyang has promoted water resources protection, water environment management, and ecological water restoration in the Yangtze River Basin and continued to promote the greening of the whole region. The forest coverage rate of the county has increased to 61%. The number of days with good air quality remained above 95% for a long time. The 33-kilometer greenway around the lake has become a landmark of the county.

In the future, the Yunyang section of the Yangtze River National Cultural Park will build an important ecological barrier in the upper reaches of the Yangtze River and create a national ecological civilization demonstration area. At the same time, Yunyang will also build an upgraded version of the "greenway around the lake," striving to create a national 5A-level tourist attraction and establish ecological water restoration scientific research bases and ecological civilization education bases and spread excellent ecological culture.
