On June 20, airline searches involving Chongqing jumped by more than 30% from last week.

Over the past two weeks, the average airfare to Chongqing stayed less than 500 yuan. The cities with the most tourists coming to Chongqing included Shenzhen, Guangzhou, Hangzhou, Nanjing, Qingdao, Jinan, Changsha, Fuzhou, Sanya, and Lhasa.

Lan Xiang, head of Qunar Big Data Research Institute, analyzed that Zhengzhou-Chongqing High-speed Railway became a new choice for tourists, facilitating travel. More high-speed railways to Chongqing mean that applicable airfares are expected to be reduced.

According to the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, restrictions on cross-provincial tourism will be relaxed. Several scenic areas in Chongqing launched special events, concessions, and consumer vouchers to prepare for the upcoming peak summer travel season. All of these made Chongqing a sought-after tourist destination this summer.
