Chongqing- This May, the Beibei District operated the first intelligent juvenile protection system in Southwest China's Chongqing Municipality. Seven hundred and sixty-three children in distress were included in the platform, and 24-hour online services were provided to protect minors from big data.

The competent representative introduced that the platform divides children in distress into three categories, equipping some children with more significant safety risks such as lack of guardianship with smartwatches. Guardians, social workers, and communities can timely master the situation of children through voice calls, health data monitoring, tracking, and positioning, providing accurate positioning for emergency assistance to reduce the possible risks faced by minors.

In recent years, Chongqing has introduced many intelligent means to solve the citizens' problems, enhancing the technology application and providing humanistic care, making the city more innovative.

Smart clearing

"The garbage here is full," said Liu, who lives in Jiangjin District. On June 13, when she passed by the centralized collection point of domestic waste in Jiahua Hospital, she found the trash can overflowing. She immediately opened WeChat and swept the quick response code (QR code) posted on it, entered the intelligent garbage clearing system, filled in related information, took a photo, and uploaded it. After 15 minutes, the garbage collection truck removed the garbage.

This system is an intelligent mini-program developed by Jiangjin District for the situation that garbage collection and transportation are not timely and complete. Since its official put into operation in November 2021, more than 20,000 trash cans in the district have been affixed with the system's QR code, basically covering the central urban area and more than 30 villages, towns, and streets.

"Once residents report relevant information to the system, they can get feedback within one minute, and the system will arrange a special person to transport them in time," said the relevant person in charge of the Jiangjin District Urban Management Bureau. The application of the system has added an effective channel for citizens to reflect information so that everyone can become the supervisor and manager of the urban environment.

Smart market

As the first innovative supervision of farmer's market in Chongqing, the Peninsula Yijing market covers the entire area of Peninsula Yijing public rental house. Nearly 100 stalls are divided into fresh, live, raw, cooked, dry, and wet areas. The results of the sampling inspection of vegetables and fruits on that day are displayed on the large screen in each site, and an electronic screen is set up in front of each stall. The operator's information, star rating, and the price of vegetables on that day are clearly shown. 

After citizens buy food, a QR code is attached to the receipt. By scanning the code, the consumers can check the operators, suppliers, dish origins, and the pesticide residue test results in the past period. Once the dishes have problems, the receipt can protect citizens' rights.

"Subsidiary agricultural products can be traced back to the source. I feel more assured about buying food," said one local Chongqing citizen. "In the past, neighbors liked to buy food at roadside stalls for convenience, but now they prefer to go to the market with more security for consumption."
