Chongqing-"This year, we've brought a broad range of products to showcase the best of Hungary for the audience," said Katalin Sogor, Commercial Consul, Consulate General of Hungary in Chongqing.

The Fourth Western China International Fair for Investment and Trade (WCIFIT) opened on July 22 in Southwest China's Chongqing Municipality. iChongqing conducted an exclusive interview with Katalin Sogor, Commercial Consul, Consulate General of Hungary in Chongqing during the event.

As a guest country of the third WCIFIT, Hungary brought as many as 50 companies to join the exhibition last year. "This year, we have a different selection," said Katalin Sogor.

"What's special about this year is that we brought a lot of brands that haven't been to China before. So aside from well-known Hungarian wines, we will show some products for the sports industry and the regeneration and showcase snacks that are also fun, not just tasty." She continued, "we are introducing a new brand of Hungarian porcelain, which is here for the first time in China."

It was the first time Katalin joined the exhibition. She was excited to participate in panel discussions about new trends, such as e-commerce and the green industries, automotive logistics products, and brands.

She said that Chongqing and Hungary complement each other very well, and cooperation will benefit both sides. She discussed opportunities in medical technology and the Hungarian company's side in the automotive and logistics industry. "We are really happy to have our partner here, the Chinese Hungarian Technology Transfer Center, and through them, we're really looking forward to opening up more opportunities in these fields as well," she added.

Katalin Sogor cited the hot spring industry as a reference for further cooperation between Chongqing and Hungary.

Hungary is famous for its hot spring resources, and Chongqing is committed to developing hot springs as one of its 'name cards.' "Both have great hot springs in thermal resources. So we are working on the pilot project now, like the East Hot Springs in Ba'nan District in Chongqing, which is using Hungarian technology to help local hot springs to create a new experience," said Katalin Sogor.
