Chongqing-Ambassador Jesus Seade of the Embassy of Mexico in China is personally attending the 4th edition of WCIFIT this year in 2022. During the event, he sat down with iChongqing for an exclusive interview to discuss trade cooperation between Chongqing and Mexico, the significance of the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations, and his expectations for WCIFIT this year.

Mexico is celebrating the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations with China this year. There have been many gestures organized to mark this historical occasion from the most important trading partner in Latin America for Southwest China, such as the mutual lighting-up of monuments in both China and Mexico in the flag of the respective nation, including the Column of Independence in Mexico City.

The potential is represented by Chongqing and Southwest China as a whole; the Mexican Chambre of Commerce (MexCham) chose to set up a chapter in the city and brought relations closer together. "Chongqing is a major market, and we are now engaged in all the capacities of manufacturing and exports based there," commented Dr. Jesus Seade, Ambassador of Mexico to China.

WCIFIT has allowed Mexico to focus on what Chongqing represents, as Mexican business associates have rated the city as being more important than Beijing, Shanghai, and Guangzhou, due to the combination of size, growth, and dynamics.
