Chongqing is Eye-catching at China International Travel Mart

ChongqingThe 2022 China International Travel Mart (CITM) took place in Kunming Dianchi Lake International Convention and Exhibition Center in Yunnan from July 22-24.

At this year’s CITM, the largest and most comprehensive international tourism exhibition in Asia, more than 70 overseas countries and regions and 31 domestic provinces (municipalities and autonomous regions) took part, as well as over 200 cultural and tourism organizations. Chongqing Municipal Commission of Culture and Tourism Development and representatives from nearly ten departments participated in the event. In terms of exhibition, publicity, and communication, Chongqing has achieved successful results.

The exhibition booth of Chongqing combined exquisite animation techniques with hot pot and red leaves. Culture and tourism were also illustrated with the cableway, monorail, and Jiefangbei (Monument to the People’s Liberation), to portray the urban charm of “A Land of Natural Beauty, A City with Cultural Appeal.” A performance of ecological aesthetics of song and dance from the Bishan District displayed Chongqing’s vibrant folk culture. Moreover, there were Chongqing-themed gifts such as scenic ticket packages and cultural products, which attracted many visitors.

There was constant crowding at Chongqing’s booth. A total of nearly 20,000 copies of publicity materials were distributed, more than 500 tourist souvenirs were sent, and more than 4,000 people received on-site consultations. Exhibitors and industry insiders alike lauded Chongqing’s bilingual English and Chinese publicity video.

The provinces of Sichuan and Chongqing have joined forces to introduce the best routes along the Bashu Cultural Tourism Corridor to build the Chengdu-Chongqing Economic Circle and the Bashu Cultural Tourism Corridor. There has also been extensive media coverage of Chongqing’s tourism industry. As part of this exhibition, the Chongqing Municipal Commission of Culture and Tourism Development introduced the city’s participation, its tourism brands of “A Land of Natural Beauty, A City with Cultural Appeal,” and its Bashu Cultural Tourism Corridor construction.
