The leading units of these 46 digital health application scenarios involve the Children's Hospital, the Second Affiliated Hospital, and the University-Town Hospital of Chongqing Medical University.

5G remote diagnosis for children's treatment

The Children's Hospital of Chongqing Medical University will construct a pediatric 5G remote diagnosis and treatment platform.

In particular, it will develop a 5G telehealth cloud platform that will handle all aspects of the process, including online service appointments, payments, auxiliary diagnosis, online diagnosis and treatment, and medicine distribution. A private 5G network will also be created to explore online medical insurance payments.

"In recent years, we have been actively exploring smart medical services," said a relevant person in charge of Children's Hospital of Chongqing Medical University.

The hospital's real-name registration has reached 100%, and more than 1.51 million e-health cards have been registered. Patients can schedule appointments via the website, WeChat, and Alipay. The hospital has also successively launched online inquiries and inter-diagnostic payments, achieving about 100,000 online consultation payments per month.

Furthermore, the hospital has delivered more than 42,000 online prescriptions in constructing Internet medical services, 46% of which were for children from other cities. The medicines were distributed to Sichuan Province, Guizhou Province, and Yunnan Province.

5G IoT and ADR to ensure patients' safety

The University-Town Hospital of Chongqing Medical University led the projects for the application and construction of intelligent wards based on 5G+ Internet of Things(IoT) and ADR(adverse drug reaction) platforms based on real-world data.

The latter is aimed at the clinical problem of ADRs during the medication process, using advanced artificial intelligence technology to establish a medical data-driven clinical prediction model for adverse drug events, including laboratory indicators, imaging tests, and biomarkers.

An ADR platform is to provide a scientific basis for clinical decision-making, supports individualized intervention, and ensures patient medication safety.

5G innovative applications for elderly treatment

The 13th People's Hospital of Chongqing (Chongqing Geriatric Hospital) led the construction of 5G+ innovative applications for chronic wound treatment in the elderly.

According to the person in charge, the hospital would integrate "Internet + nursing," home health care for the elderly who are disabled or semi-disabled, palliative care, chronic wound care, and public health services.

Meanwhile, a multidisciplinary team (MDT) will build the medical chain to connect the hospital, community, and families.

This is to realize an effective online-offline referral, online consultation, and extended nursing to provide a high-quality and convenient health service for the elderly.
