Chongqing- "Pay attention! There are customers with abnormal data," warned the monitoring system. "The voltage may be abnormal on preliminary analysis."

Recently, Chongqing continues to be scorching hot, with the demand on the power grid continuously rising, particularly among enterprises with significant electricity consumption.

On August 4, State Grid Chongqing Electric Power Company staff monitored the enterprises' abnormal power consumption in the power supply area through the real-time power consumption information acquisition system, ensuring enterprises' safety and stable production.

To maintain the stable and orderly production of electricity consumption, State Grid Chongqing Electric Power developed a metering cloud consulting room project.

Real-time online monitoring can be realized by building a power consumption information acquisition system and embedding an online monitoring module in the voltmeter. Thus, customers with abnormal data can be identified in real-time and treated with cloud diagnosis services.

On the same day, a staff of State Grid Chongqing Electric Power found that the noodle factory of Master Kong (Chongqing) Convenience Food Co., Ltd., located in Liangjiang New Area, may witness abnormal voltage through monitoring.

Within minutes, the staff reported the suspected abnormalities and instructed a remote video call to be made to check for them. Meanwhile, workers were arranged to the factory for inspection and maintenance to ensure the hidden risks of power consumption were solved.

"In summer, our average monthly power consumption is around two million kWh, and the real-time monitoring gives us a 'safety valve,'" said Chen Wei, professional electrical staff in Master Kong. "The service is so considerate."

In addition to the help from the power company, this can master its power consumption through the Online State Grid application (app). It is especially beneficial for factories to adjust production time according to peak power consumption in summer, which saves electric costs by reducing production during off-peak times.

To ensure that customers' electrical facilities were running correctly before the system was launched, State Grid Chongqing Power primarily conducted periodic on-site inspections.

"The on-site inspection took a long time and was ineffective," said Xiao Ji, chief expert of State Grid Corporation of China (SGCC). Now, online real-time monitoring can detect the abnormal data of the customers' electricity meters in time, which addresses and eliminates the hidden risks as soon as possible.

Up to now, the system has covered all the enterprise users within the power supply area of State Grid Chongqing Power.

A representative of State Grid Chongqing Electric Power said that during the peak in summer, the system would strengthen the daily monitoring and analysis of the enterprises' power consumption. The system will help enterprises reduce hidden risks of power consumption and provide reliable power guarantees by enhancing the monitoring of load and account management of heavy-load equipment.

Moreover, it offers chief expert door-to-door services for enterprises and customers, actively contacting and protecting their economic benefits and ensuring high-quality services.
