Chongqing- "Your fractional power operation is wrong. Please review the explanation video." On the morning of August 15, Qiu Ningzhi, a seventh-grade student at Xingchen Middle School in Chongqing Liangjiang New Area, opened his laptop, and the teacher's comments popped on the screen.
Students have used this method in daily learning since the summer vacation, making this school a microcosm of smart education in Chongqing.
Students use face ID to enter the campus, listen to lectures in the cloud classroom, and do experiments in the AI laboratory. In the big data era, Chongqing students' lives are becoming more intelligent.
On June 23, Tongzi No. 1 Middle School students in Zunyi City, Sichuan Province, and Chongqing Bashu Middle School students shared the same class on the cloud.
Bashu Cloud-Based School allows teachers from two different distant schools to prepare lessons together, said Zhao Pingping, a teacher at Bashu Middle School. "It is also possible for the two schools' students to use the same teaching materials and to work on the same exercises after class."
"Bashu Middle School has signed cooperation agreements with more than 100 middle schools in 10 provinces and cities, including Guizhou Province, Sichuan Province, and Hainan Province, benefiting more than 14,000 teachers and students," said Zhang Yu, principal of Bashu Cloud-Based School.
Chongqing's education infrastructure has improved in recent years, according to a Chongqing Education Commission official. "The access bandwidth of schools in Chongqing is more than 100M, and 100% of schools have multimedia classrooms,"
In the classroom, students can generate learning resources through mobile terminals.
Walking into the Chongqing No. 7 Middle School, each physics and chemistry laboratory table has a smart screen and three cameras with an AI video recognition function. Students can watch the video of the experimental specification and then conduct experiments based on it.
The AI system will automatically identify whether the practical action is consistent with the video action to ensure the students' experiment is accurate.
A person in charge of the Chongqing Education Commission said that 425 smart schools had been listed for construction as part of the smart campus construction plan.
In June, Li Hang, a Chongqing Electronic Engineering Vocational College graduate, received an offer from Digital China (Beijing) Co., Ltd.
"Thanks to the cloud platform jointly developed by the school and Tektronix Education Group," said Li Hang. "The Human Resources department at Digital China saw my three-year study record and certificates on the platform and contacted me."
The platform collects real-time data on students' learning processes and regularly generates student profiles. More than 4,000 companies have registered on the platform to find suitable employees. Using the platform, companies can easily find desirable employees by checking students' profiles, which improves the employment rate of graduates.
For example, Chongqing Electronic Engineering Vocational College has a 99.5% employment rate for graduates of its School of Communication Engineering.
With smart education, education will be of higher quality, more efficient, and more equitable. Chongqing will apply big data and artificial intelligence to diversified analysis and achieve large-scale education and personalized training unification.
