Chongqing- The intelligent cold storage box to achieve precise temperature control, the unmanned forklift handling robot with 30% higher efficiency than similar products, container sea bags to protect goods...... All these and more technology products are presented at the smart logistics and digital channel theme exhibition hall in the Smart China Expo (SCE) 2022 to boost Chongqing's intelligent port logistics. 

 

With the opening of the new airport, Chongqing Wanzhou Airport, Chongqing has become the city with the largest number of officially opened ports and the complete functions in the western inland region, forming a three-dimensional open port system with multiple transportation modes. 

For the intelligent, green, and intensive development of port logistics, Chongqing has built a digital channel around its outbound channel with a comprehensive service system, including the smart channel, the smart hub, and the smart network, said Xiong Zhaoyang, director of the electronic port center of Chongqing Municipal Government Port and Logistics Office. 

Single Window for New International Land-Sea Trade Corridor (ILSTC), for example, provides intelligent solutions for customs clearance and logistics documents using artificial intelligence and big data. 

"The platform reduces document filling time from 40 minutes to 40 seconds and costs from 80 yuan to zero, which greatly lowers the enterprises' costs and increases efficiency," said Xiong. "Now, the intelligent document system has been jointly applied in Chongqing, Sichuan, Guangxi, and other provinces and cities."

According to the Chongqing Municipal Government Port and Logistics Office, Chongqing plans to build an intelligent international logistics hub innovation demonstration zone as the priority to support the international logistics channel. 

In order to realize comprehensive digitalization and intelligence, the demonstration zone will use cutting-edge technologies such as big data, the Internet of Things, and cloud computing.

For instance, there are "intelligent brains" for command and operation integration, "developed nerves" for information interconnection and openness, "robust torsos" for unmanned infrastructure systems, and "flexible limbs" for handling and loading automation.

Additionally, the demonstration zone will focus on unmanned container cargo areas, intelligent loading and unloading of high-speed rail freight, the innovative management system for warehouses and distribution, and other activities to create fully automated integration and collaboration.
