Chongqing- The 22nd China International Fair for Investment and Trade (CIFIT) will be held in Xiamen, Fujian Province, from September 8 to 11. The press conference on September 6 announced South Korea as the country of honor and Chongqing as the guest of honor city.

As a national exhibition in investment sponsored by the Ministry of Commerce, the CIFIT has grown into an international investment event with global influence after more than 20 sessions of history.

This year, 41 significant conferences and forums will be held to promote the high-quality construction of the Belt and Road, the BRICS (Brazil, Russia, India, China, and South Africa) cooperation, the RCEP (Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership) economic, and other trade exchanges. Several authoritative information reports will be published, such as China's foreign investment guidelines and investment reports for BRICS countries. 

With more than 120,000 square meters, this year's CIFIT comprises 13 exhibition areas in three major pavilions, covering investment promotion, industrial innovation and development, and project capital talent cooperation. The UNIDO (United Nations Industrial Development Organization), embassies and consulates, business associations, and investment promotion agencies of 48 countries and regions will participate, including South Korea, Japan, and Austria.

Furthermore, 26 provinces, autonomous regions, and municipalities in China will join the fair.

As the guest of honor at this year's CIFIT, Chongqing saw significant economic and social development, with 2.79 trillion yuan of regional gross domestic product (GDP) in 2021. Foreign trade imports and exports exceeded 800 billion yuan, and the accumulated overseas assets reached nearly 20 billion U.S. dollars. 

Chongqing, with more than 7,500 foreign investors and businesses, is becoming an increasingly attractive place to do business and invest, according to Wang Jue, deputy director of the Chongqing Municipal Commission of Commerce.

Chongqing will launch a series of activities at this CIFIT to maximize the benefits of the national investment event platform. As Chongqing develops the opening up of channels, platforms, economy, environment, and other fields, it will show impressive achievements in the construction of the open inland highlands, the New International Land and Sea Trade Corridor (ILSTC), intelligent manufacturing, the international consumption center, and more.

Several investment promotion teams will be set up, leveraging Chongqing's favorable business environment and the advantages of the industry to attract all kinds of investments and talent.

With Chongqing's status as a manufacturing hub, the city will exhibit modern technological products at the fair, including the world's first fully automated capsule robot, the RC100. Using interactive and integrated expressions, people and technology, space, environment, and society will be brought together through digital transportation, medical care, and applications.
