Chongqing Signs Over 9 Billion Yuan in Investment Deals at 22nd CIFIT

Chongqing- As an important activity at the 22nd China International Fair for Investment and Trade (CIFIT), the Chongqing Investment and Trade Cooperation Dialogue was held in Xiamen, China's Fujian Province, on September 8. There were 116 attendees from more than 80 internationally renowned companies, including Deloitte, ABB Group, Bayer, IKEA, and more.

Worth 9.3 billion yuan, 23 participating enterprises from Beijing, Tianjin, Chongqing, Fujian, and Guangdong signed 14 cooperation agreements with Chongqing. With a total investment of 6.43 billion yuan, seven investment projects were signed, covering areas like big data, e-commerce, food, and biotechnology.

With a dedication to high-level opening up and international investment cooperation, the 22nd CIFIT focuses on green and low-carbon development and the digital economy to build a public platform for international investment promotion. 

A total of 40 outstanding companies from Chongqing participated in CIFIT this year. Through investment and trade negotiations in international trade, international logistics, intelligent manufacturing, and exhibition economy, Chongqing has achieved good results. 

The Western China International Fair for Investment and Trade (WCIFIT) shares similar opportunities with the CIFIT, where Chongqing and Xiamen held business activities jointly to realize the first cooperation between these two major investment and trade fairs.

Through the Chongqing Investment and Trade Cooperation Dialogue, the city promoted a favorable business climate and development based on its location, industry, system, and ecology.

According to statistics, the city had a gross domestic product (GDP) of 2.79 trillion yuan in 2021, ranking fifth in the country. Chongqing's total foreign trade imports and exports were at the forefront of the central and western regions, with 312 of the top 500 enterprises in the world located there.

Chongqing is the only municipality in central and western China under the direct supervision of Beijing, the economic center in the upper reaches of the Yangtze River and China's central city. 

As the largest electronic information industry cluster in Asia and the largest automobile industry cluster in China, the city reveals tremendous potential in modern manufacturing.

Furthermore, Chongqing has been the world's largest notebook computer production base for eight consecutive years. Additionally, Chongqing produces nearly 10% of the world's mobile phones and more than 20% of China's motorcycles.
