Chongqing- As a municipality under the direct supervision of Beijing, Chongqing is gathering innovative resources and smart achievements to cultivate intelligent industries, aiming to build an international, green, intelligent, and culturally modern metropolis.

As more traditional industries embraced digitization, Chongqing has speeded up the construction of an intelligent manufacturing smart city.

Highlighting the two leading industries of new energy intelligent connected vehicles and biomedicine, Chongqing's Shapingba District promotes the advanced manufacturing supplementary chain agglomeration, said Long Jingyi, deputy director of the Economic and Information Technology Commission of Shapingba District.

Shapingba District serves as one of the most densely populated areas in Chongqing, and University Town is located in the west of the district.

Strongly driven by leading firms like SERES and Southwest Pharmaceutical, Shapingba District promotes the clustering of supporting enterprises to the industrial chain and moves the industrial structure to the mid-to-high end. 

"When SERES AITOM7 goes offline this year, it is expected to achieve an annual output value of more than 10 billion yuan," said Long. "Next, mass production will continue. It is expected that 100,000 AITO M7 and other models will be rolled off the production line next year, forming a large-scale output value of more than 30 billion yuan."

In the future, the scale of the new energy and intelligent connected vehicle industry in Shapingba District will exceed 100 billion.

Led by the cooperation projects between SERES and Huawei, the district will promote the gradual settlement of supporting projects in the industrial chain to form a new energy and intelligent connected vehicle industrial ecology.

In the biopharmaceutical industry, Shapingba District is actively guiding Southwest Pharmaceutical to expand, upgrade, and promote its biomedicine development.

Southwest Pharmaceutical strives to achieve an operating income of 10 billion yuan by the end of the 14th Five-Year, driving the upstream and downstream of the industrial chain to gather and form a unique advantage in biomedicine.

Driven by the cultivation of high-tech industries, Shapingba District focuses on promoting the strategic development of enterprises such as new energy and intelligent connected vehicles, integrated circuits, high-end equipment, and biomedicine.

Statistics show that Shapingba District has completed 103 intelligent transformation projects, eight smart factories, and 22 digital workshops. 50% of large-scale industrial enterprises have completed the digital transformation. For example, SERES Phoenix is building an innovative demonstration smart factory to lead the city's smart manufacturing.
