Chongqing- With 29 projects worth 93.8 billion yuan (about 13.37 billion U.S. dollars), the Caijia Smart New City Opportunity List was officially released in Southwest China's Chongqing Municipality on September 19, which implies large urban development needs and enterprise development opportunities.
With an area of about 88 square kilometers, Caijia Smart New City is an important area linking Chongqing's major functional blocks. It serves as a demonstration pilot for Chongqing's private economy reform and a crucial area of the China (Chongqing) Pilot Free Trade Zone.
This year marks the 20th anniversary of the Caijia Smart New City, and the city witnessed significant progress in economic and social development, addressed Deng Meitao, member of the Standing Committee of Beibei District Committee and secretary of the Party Committee of Caijia Smart New City.
The Caijia Smart New City Opportunity List was published at the press conference to seize the development opportunities, covering four main aspects and others.
The first is ecological humanity, which involves six projects with an estimated investment of about 10.6 billion yuan. By implementing projects like the Jialing River (Caijia section) ecological corridor and Caijia Smart New City EOD (Ecology-Oriented Development) project, the ecological protection and restoration will be further strengthened for a more charming ecological garden city. It will focus on collecting well-known enterprises to provide integrated planning, design, financing, construction, and operation solutions. It will also select compliant investment and financing modes to jointly promote constructing an "ecological, livable, and intelligent new city."
The second is technological innovation, which involves eight projects with an estimated investment of about 34.8 billion yuan. It will focus on recruiting construction and companies with rich experience in headquarters research and development (R&D), scenario application, technology empowerment, intelligent manufacturing, network security, cross-border e-commerce, etc.
The third is the private economy, which involves five projects with an estimated investment of about 5.1 billion yuan. A series of projects like the private economy headquarters incubation base, regional medical center, and big health will boost the comprehensive reform of the private economy demonstration pilot and further optimize the market-oriented, legalized, and international business environment.
The fourth is urban-rural integration, which involves eight projects with an estimated investment of 13.3 billion yuan. It encompasses urban infrastructure improvement and function enhancement, urban renewal projects, special cultural and food district creation, rural revitalization along the riverside, etc.
In addition, there are two other projects with an estimated investment of about 30 billion yuan, focusing on soliciting high-quality enterprises that can accelerate the coordinated promotion of infrastructure, public services, and industries per new urban planning and development requirements.
The Caijia Smart New City is a peninsula that connects Yuelai to the east, Lijia to the south, Western (Chongqing) Science City to the west, and Shuitu high-tech industrial park to the north. Together with Lijia and Yuelai, it forms the golden triangle of the Liangjiang New Area urban complex.
Currently, the Beibei District territorial space planning positioned Caijia as a private economy demonstration peninsula and ecological livable smart new city. The plan focuses on industrial development, urban public services, and comprehensive transportation, said Yang Xingjian, chief economist of Chongqing Municipal Bureau of Planning and Natural Resources.
Among them, the industrial Internet ecological park is a good example, which gathers three important platforms, including the Chongqing branch of the China industrial internet research institute, the national industrial Internet platform application innovation experience center, and the national industrial big data manufacturing innovation center.
At present, the Caijia Smart New City is home to more than 1,000 industrial and commercial entities, forming four pillar industries of automobile and motorcycle, instrumentation, power transmission and transformation equipment manufacturing, and new materials, with an average annual growth rate of 26.3% in total industrial output value in the past three years.
