Medical safety, scenic route planning, accommodation, and other issues can all get arranged by a “pet travel agency,” which will save a lot of time and energy for pet keepers. Wang Linkun, a dog keeper, became a pet travel agent three years ago. There are laughter and happiness, but also problems and troubles during the journey. He believes his job is “the best in the world.”

“I love my job, which is to help people take pets on trips. Since November 2019, we have organized hundreds of trips with over a thousand participants. We’ve been to the beach, seen the grasslands, climbed the snowy mountains, and traveled through the jungle together with pets. In the winter, we have snow festivals; in the spring, we take our dogs to enjoy flowers and greenery; when summer comes, we take our dogs go rafting and go to experience the outdoors scenery with fall approaching; what’s more, we have also taken our dogs to the cinema, the oceanarium, the water amusement park and so on.”

“Many pet owners should have met this problem: when they want to take the pets out to travel, they will face different kinds of inconveniences. For example, many scenic spots will not allow pets to enter, not to mention hotels, public transportation, etc., so my job is to solve these problems for them.”

“Our team will communicate in advance to select parks, hotels, restaurants, etc., allowing pets in. Pets cause some inconveniences during the trip, such as hair loss and body odor, so solving these problems takes up a large part of our work. We will prepare diapers, cushions, essential medicines, deodorant spray, and a pet doctor for each trip; we will also inform the owners in advance of the careful precautions, requiring them to carry their pet’s vaccination certificate and clean up urine and stool in time. In the beginning, many scenic spots did not allow pets to enter, nor did they allow us to use the facilities. After several successful cooperations, they found that everyone was able to comply with the rules and regulations of the scenic spots, and gradually more and more scenic spots are opening up to us as well.”

“Even though the process is difficult, seeing the owners and the pets travel out together, and the big smiles on their faces make me feel that my work is meaningful.”

“We often hear people say, ‘This group took their dogs out for a trip again. They must love their pets more than their family.’ But after I get to know so many pet owners, I can feel that people who like animals are all very kind. If they love their pets, they will do even better for their flesh and blood.”

“People who have owned pets should know better about what I am saying. My dad wasn’t very supportive of my job at the beginning. He was diagnosed with terminal lung cancer two years ago, and I sent him a puppy over to keep him company, which greatly contributes to his health. I can still remember the day he brought the puppy to our dog event, and when I sorted the photos afterward, I found that he was really happy, and the smile on his face made me feel that it was all worth it.”
