Chongqing- Southwest China's Chongqing has organized nearly 700 enterprises and 2,500 people to participate in the fifth China International Import Expo (CIIE) held on November 5 to discover opportunities.

As the world's first import-themed national-level exhibition, the CIIE has now been successfully held for five consecutive years. It has become a showcase of the country's new development and a platform for high-standard opening up and presenting public good for the whole world.

Deliveries of AVATR 11 Huawei EV will begin next month

Becoming the big star of the Chongqing Pavilion, the AVATR 11 intelligent electric vehicle, the first product jointly launched by Changan Automobile, Huawei, and CATL, made its debut at the CIIE. Deliveries of AVATR 11 will begin next month.

Also making its debut is the latest vintage motorcycle from Zongshen Motorcycle Group, whose international sales network has covered over 80 countries and regions worldwide. Its RE560 has a British body design and an in-line two-cylinder, water-cooled, eight-valve electric injection engine.

The exploding camping economy in China creates demand for portable energy storage power. Loncin Motor Co., Ltd. has brought three power machines that sell well worldwide.

Over 145 countries, regions, and international organizations participated at the fifth CIIE, showcasing hundreds of new products, technologies, and services.

"The CIIE gathers the global vision, in such a platform, to show the world the achievements of Chongqing's opening up, and tell the world Chongqing's resolution on opening up," said an official from Chongqing Municipal Commission of Commerce.

The exhibition of achievements introduces four major corridors centered in Chongqing, such as the China Railway Express to Europe, the New International Land-Sea Trade Corridor (ILSTC), the Golden Waterway of the Yangtze River, and the Chongqing-Manchuria-Russia railway. It reflects how Chongqing's efforts to develop the opening-up route and step forward to the front of opening-up.

At the same time, procurement is the primary purpose of the delegations to the CIIE.

Chongqing Foreign Trade and Economic Cooperation (Group) Co., Ltd. has participated in each CIIE. This year, the group plans to purchase dairy products, medical equipment, consumer products, and other products.

"To place orders at the CIIE, I began researching the market trends and sellers several months ago," said Zhang Yi, a staff member of the company's trade department.

These orders will help optimize Chongqing's foreign trade structure. Last month, Chongqing released Action Plan to Promote High-quality Development of Foreign Trade (2022-2024), which specifies that by 2024, Chongqing's imports will account for over 40% of the total foreign trade. 

"This year, we plan to purchase advanced intelligent equipment such as robots and automation control to improve intelligent manufacturing systems and help longer-term development," said Zhang Yong, chief executive of Chongqing Friend Industrial Co., Ltd.

The company is an intelligent manufacturing system solution supplier focusing on industrial, logistics, and medical automation.

Furthermore, Cushman & Wakefield, a global real estate services firm, will hold the Chengdu-Chongqing Economic Circle Joint Development Forum at the CIIE. Representatives from the China Academy of Urban Planning & Design and the Chengdu Retailers Association will share their insights on the latest development opportunity for new drivers and consumption in the Chengdu-Chongqing region.
