Set Cross-straits Industrial Cooperation Zone in Chongqing

Chongqing was approved to develop the country’s sixth cross-strait industrial cooperation zone. In the model of one district and three parks, Chongqing selects Chongqing High-tech Zone Industrial Park, Fuling District Industrial Park, and Yongchuan District Industrial Park as a cross-strait industrial cooperation zone in Chongqing.

The Chongqing Cross-Strait Industrial Cooperation Zone continues to concentrate on developing electronic information, intelligent manufacturing, biotechnology, agricultural food, and other industries.

Chongqing will continue improving policies, measures, and financial support systems to optimize the business environment. The zone is expected to be an important demonstration platform for national economic and trade exchanges and cooperation with Taiwan.

In addition, the zone will attract Taiwanese enterprises to participate in Chongqing’s economic and social construction and introduce high-quality industries, core technologies, and talents from Taiwan to Chongqing.

35 years Chongqing-Taiwan exchange achieved fruitful results

Chongqing-Taiwan exchange and cooperation in various fields have achieved fruitful results in 35 years. In June 2010, the Cross-straits Economic Cooperation Framework Agreement (ECFA), an important milestone in the history of Cross-strait development, was signed in Chongqing, highlighting the important status of Chongqing in cross-strait exchanges.

Chongqing has set up seven Taiwan-related industrial parks and holds the Chongqing-Taiwan Week and Taiwan enterprises’ business visits in the western part of China yearly.

Chongqing has built the largest Taiwan-invested laptop computers production base and laptop computers industry cluster worldwide, becoming an important gathering place for Taiwan-invested enterprises to invest in the western part of the Chinese mainland.
