Chongqing- China strives to maintain stable macroeconomic performance, achieving steady growth in foreign trade, where Southwest China's Chongqing's foreign trade import and export value reached 689.49 billion yuan (about 97.35 billion U.S. dollars), with a year-on-year increase of 7.2% in the first ten months of 2022, according to the Chongqing Customs District. 

Among them, the export was 449.64 billion yuan, up 9.3%, while the import was 239.85 billion yuan, up 3.4%. 

Foreign trade entities have been further invigorated. In the first ten months, the import and export of foreign-invested enterprises in Chongqing reached 325.94 billion yuan, up 6.2%. The import and export of private enterprises reached 311.7 billion yuan, up 11.8%.

The proportion of general trade continued to increase. In terms of trade structure, in the first ten months, Chongqing's processing trade import and export amounted to 303.93 billion yuan, up 4.8%, while the import and export of general trade were 246.56 billion yuan, up 13.3%. The import and export of bonded logistics reached 136.24 billion yuan, up 2.5%.

Imports and exports with major trading partners kept growing. In the first ten months, Chongqing's imports and exports to the European Union (EU), Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN), and the United States were 105.84 billion yuan, 103.7 billion yuan, and 98.27 billion yuan, up 4.9%, 2%, and 2.5%, respectively.

Over the same period, the import and export to the countries along the Belt and Road reached 184.84 billion yuan, up 5.2%, while the import and export to other Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP) member countries reached 214.51 billion yuan, up 12.5%.

From January to October, the import and export of Chongqing Comprehensive Bonded Zone achieved 447.17 billion yuan with an increase of 1.2%, accounting for 64.9% of Chongqing's total foreign trade value in the same period.

Imports and exports of major products enjoyed steady growth. Chongqing exported 386.16 billion yuan of mechanical and electrical products in the first ten months, with an increase of 1.8%. Among them, laptops and vehicles saw remarkable export volumes, with 48.584 million and 236,000 units, ranking first and third in the country.

Meanwhile, Chongqing imported 98.47 billion yuan of integrated circuits in the first ten months, an increase of 5%. During the same period, the imported computers and parts were 25.81 billion yuan, up 4.5%, while the imported metal ore was 15.95 billion yuan, up 28.5%.
