By YAN DENG|Dec 09,2022

Chongqing - Two inspiring solutions worked out by the Chongqing people were selected among 104 award-winning cases in the third global poverty reduction case collection released at a seminar recently.

The 2022 International Seminar on Global Poverty Reduction Partnerships was held in Beijing on November 11 under the theme of "Shared Development-Poverty Reduction and Sustainable Rural Revitalization."

The cultural company, Yes'mAutumn, mainly produces and sells the national intangible cultural heritage Rongchang linen artwork, promoting rural culture revitalization by cultivating new artisans. Xiushan County developed e-commerce to promote poverty alleviation.

Intangible cultural heritage workshops increase farmers' income

In 2019, the company undertook the "Shandong-Chongqing Co-construction Intangible Cultural Heritage Poverty Alleviation" project and built workshops in Yanhe and Jiming villages in Chengkou County and Zhongyi Village in Shizhu County. The workshops employed and trained local people to make cultural products, helping them earn a considerable income in villages.

"We cultivate new craftsmen by passing on the intangible heritage of Rongchang linen and develop cultural and creative products by integrating local culture and tourism resources," said Qi Tao, the representative inheritor of Rongchang linen.

More than 80 villagers have become Rongchang linen craftsmen and work in their villages. So far, the company has built 13 intangible cultural heritage workshops in Shizhu County, Chengkou County, and other places. Over 400 people have stable jobs, including more than 40 who have been lifted out of poverty.

Modern Logistics Park to develop the e-commerce industry

Yang Zhonghua, a villager who lives in the Xinyuan Village, Aikou Town, Xiushan County, brought more than five-kilogram honey to the town's industrial park for sale. Through the e-commerce platform, his honey will be sent from Xiushan (Wuling) Modern Logistics Park to all parts of the country. "With the e-commerce platform, the honey at home has a good market," Yang said.

More than ten years ago, the Xiushan County People's Government proposed to build Xiushan (Wuling) Modern Logistics Park to develop the e-commerce industry. The county has gradually established five systems recently, including product development, e-commerce platforms, express delivery, talent training, and e-commerce service.

The county has built over 2,000 e-commerce industrial bases and signs more than 30,000 mu (20 million square meters) underwriting orders for agricultural products such as citrus, peppers, and potatoes yearly.

It relies on 13 leisure food companies in the industrial park to build a processing center, using 61 e-commerce processing lines of various types, such as hot pot bottom material, self-heating convenience food, pastry, etc. It also developed 110 self-owned brands and some regional public brands, such as "Xiushan Maojian," a green tea brand.

The Xiushan (Wuling) Modern Logistics Park has attracted 400 e-commerce companies to settle in, cultivated more than 2,500 e-commerce entities, and 23,000 online stores.

In addition, the county independently developed an urban and rural logistics platform and built a service network among counties, towns, and villages. Furthermore, it has also established a talent training system, carrying out full-time specialist education in e-commerce majors and base training.
