Chongqing- In the interests of restoring social normality in the shortest timeframe and stimulating economic recovery, the districts and counties of Chongqing have launched a range of quality tourist routes with local characteristics, innovative products, and high-value packages to entice more consumers to visit and spend in the winter tourism sector. At the same time, guidance will be provided to ensure tourists may enjoy travel experiences in a healthy and civilized manner.

More than 70 boutique travel routes for this winter tourist season are planned, including snow activities, hot springs, healthcare, rural excursions, ancient towns, and adventure days. For example, Jinfo Mountain in Nanchuan District offers snow slopes, hot spring resorts, and the ancient-style East Street, among numerous other destinations.

Meanwhile, large-scale cultural tourism events such as the 24th Jinfo Mountain Snow and Ice Festival, the 2022 Nantian Lake Ski Challenge, and the 6th China Baidi International Poetry Festival will be held in Nanchuan, Fengdu, and Fengjie, respectively.

The number of consumer vouchers, discounted travel, and waived fees are unprecedented at the same time. The Jinfo Mountain Scenic Area offers a high-value travel package for 198 yuan per person, which includes tickets, cableway rides, shuttle buses, and entry to skiing venues. Similarly, Wulong District has launched a 198 yuan Fairy Mountain ski package.

Snow activities combine with hot spring healthcare

The peaks of Jinfo Mountain reach an altitude of 2238 meters, and it is rated among the top ten ski resorts in Chongqing and Sichuan. Following the culmination of 23 past editions of the Snow and Ice Festival, Jinfo Mountain has become a must-see destination for its genuine snowscapes. It has accordingly been listed as a boutique route nationally.

Following a spectacular cablecar ride, the Snow Park on the North Slope has more than 20 fun winter activities, including mini-excavators, snow tours, paintball, team building, and parent-child activities. In addition, the upcoming Toudu Village and Aoyue Lakeside Ski Resort are under construction and set to be completed by the end of the year.

This year's Snow and Ice Festival will last three months through to February 28, and one enticing package is the opportunity to combine snow experiences with hot spring healthcare. Tianxing International Hot Spring City offers the first natural hot spring resort featuring traditional Chinese medicine in the municipality, with 13 bathing pools infused with medicinal herbs such as osmanthus and wormwood, and makes for a perfect way to round off a fun day up on the high slopes.

Once tourists have thoroughly admired the scenery of Nanchuan, it is possible to travel back into the 1960s with a walk down East Street, where mountains and running waters paint an idyllic picture of nostalgia. In addition, tourists can find the first photovoltaic glass paved walkway or search for plum blossoms about to release their intoxicating winter fragrances.
